Following up on recent news (April 15th) regarding Progressive Planet (TSXV: PLAN) expanding its processing capability, CEO Steve Harpur sheds further light on the upgrade and its capabilities with Proactive Investors Steve Darling.

In the five minute video, Steve Harpur shares that:

  • The comminution plant has expanded its capacity by a factor of eight times with the addition of a larger ball mill.
  • Comminution is the reduction of solid materials from one average particle size to a smaller average particle size.
  • The same equipment is used to make low carbon cementitious materials from natural pozzolan that is also used to make rock powders for agriculture.
  • Receiving $250,000 in purchase orders for rock powders used in agriculture.
  • Plan is in the business of making rock powders for both agriculture and the cement industry. In each case, the materials reduce the carbon footprint of the material being replaced (Portland Cement and chemical based fertilizers for agriculture) that reduce the carbon footprint of the material.
  • There is a deficiency of grinding capacity in Western Canada for making fine powders including for the agricultural world.
  • A second shift has been added with expansion to a third shift in coming weeks allowing the plant to operate 120 hours a week.
  • The plant will also be used as a pilot facility for manufacturing PozGlass™ SCM including making samples for concrete suppliers to test  PozGlass SCM. which is the company’s initiative to commercialize environmentally beneficial solutions for the cement industry.
